From Inspiration to Dazzling Designs: The Journey of Creating Cartier’s Stunning Jewelry

We are excited to announce that on Tuesday, September 13 at 7 pm, there will be a conversation between jewelry historian Marion Fasel, founder of The Adventurine, and Sarah Schleuning, curator of Cartier and Islamic Art: In Search of Modernity. The discussion will focus on the design and inspiration behind the jewelry showcased in the exhibition at the Dallas Museum of Art.

Please note that this event will be held in person and will not be available for online viewing.

The extraordinary collection of Islamic art amassed by Louis Cartier and his deep passion for the genre played a significant role in shaping the Cartier style. During the conversation, the panel will explore how the motifs, colors, and forms derived from Islamic art became a vital source of inspiration for the Cartier design team in the first half of the 20th century.

Prior to the event, there will be a special viewing of the Cartier and Islamic Art: In Search of Modernity exhibition from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Admission to the exhibition can be obtained by purchasing a ticket for the talk here.
